Da “devoração” à hospitalidade: uma narrativa alimentar à moda antiga

In this article, the author proposes an interpretation of some alimentary paradigms of the biblical narratives, in dialogue with the thought of the Portuguese exegete José Tolentino Mendonça. A reading of the evolution of the narratives on the manna and the banquet, as well as the examination of the specificity of two great festivals of Israel, will highlight utopias, values and inconsistencies present in the social organization of this people. However, the strength of these narratives consists precisely in the conservation and transmission of these tensions and conflicts, keeping the path open for the healthy personalization of the new generations belonging to this tradition.Neste artigo, o autor propõe uma interpretação de alguns paradigmas alimentares das narrativas bíblicas, em diálogo com a reflexão do exegeta português José Tolentino Mendonça. Uma leitura da evolução do discurso sobre o maná e o banquete, assim como o exame da especificidade de duas grandes festas de Israel, colocarão em evidência utopias, valores e incoerências presentes na organização social deste povo. Entretanto, a força destas narrativas consiste justamente na conservação e na transmissão destas tensões e conflitos, mantendo o caminho aberto para a sadia personalização das novas gerações pertencentes a esta tradição
